Headlight Protection and Aftercare in Arizona
After your appointment:
Keep the vehicle parked for two hours.
Do not wash the vehicle for seven days.
Allow seven days for full cure.
After that, wash with car-safe products and skip harsh scrubbing.
Sun damage and protection
Headlight lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a protective coating on the outside. Over time, sun, heat, dust, road debris, and harsh cleaners wear that coating down, and the plastic underneath starts to yellow and haze.
After we restore the surface, we apply a ceramic coating with UV protection to protect the plastic again. Like any coating, it wears over time, depending on the lens, sun exposure, and care.
Here in Tucson, cars sit in strong sun most days, so the coating and your care routine matter more.
The cure timeline
During the appointment
A typical vehicle takes about one to two hours. Keep the vehicle accessible for the complete mobile service.
First two hours
Do not drive the vehicle for two hours after service. Plan an appointment time and location that allow it to remain parked.
First seven days
Do not wash the vehicle for seven days after service. Follow the written aftercare instructions and do not shorten the cure window.
At seven days
Full cure takes seven days. Even after that, rocks, scratches, harsh chemicals, and weather can still wear the coating down.
Care after full cure
After the seven-day cure period:
- use gentle cleaning compatible with automotive exterior surfaces;
- avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaning on the treated lens;
- follow the specific written instructions provided with the service.
How long restoration lasts
We can't promise a set number of years. How long the results last depends on:
- the starting condition and previous work;
- outdoor exposure and parking conditions;
- road debris, impacts, scratches, and abrasion;
- harsh chemicals or improper cleaning;
- later work performed by another person;
- cracks, internal damage, or other conditions outside the treated exterior surface.
How the warranty relates to aftercare
Eligible work comes with a one-year warranty. The warranty covers one year; the lens condition and your care decide how long the results last.

Choose a safe location with enough space around the vehicle and a time that allows two hours without driving. Rain or extreme heat may require a different time or rescheduling.
